- Mode of action:
The MANTRA CL tablet lure is an attractant for melon fly (B. cucurbitae). The MANTRA CL lure installed in McPhail trap can be used for monitoring and mass trapping of B. cucurbitae. MANTRA CL tablet lure will release the para-pheromone at a constant rate over a period of 90-120 days. The melon flies are attracted and fall into the trap erected. By monitoring, the farmer can decide his pesticide spray schedule for melon flies and through mass trapping the pest intensity will be reduced by trapping a part of pest population.
- Application Protocol:
Place the MANTRA CL tablet Lure in the McPhail trap and install the trap randomly (avoiding the borders) in any recommended crop such away that traps get distributed uniformly across the field; care should be taken to install the trap near the fruiting region of the crop. It is recommended to use one MANTRA CL tablet lure per recommended trap. One MANTRA CL tablet lure works efficiently for up to 90-120 days in field, depending upon climatic conditions.
